Inside LIGNA 2025: TM Machinery’s Highlights from Europe’s Largest Woodworking Show
For this post, TM Machinery greets you from LIGNA in Hanover. This is the largest exhibition for woodworking machinery in Europe and a great event for our team. We make sure to regularly attend LIGNA, and have been doing so for around 30 years now.
Every two years or so, TM Machinery takes a trip to Hanover to connect with customers, suppliers, and innovators. Attending this exhibition not only allows us to showcase the work we do and the machinery offered by our suppliers, but also allows us to keep up to date with the industry. Being regular attendees at LIGNA allows us to stay one step ahead of woodworking machinery to deliver superior support for our clients.
In this post, we are sharing the highlights of LIGNA 2025 and what you can expect from the future of woodworking machinery.

What Is LIGNA And Why Is It So Important For Woodworking Machinery?
LIGNA is an incredibly valuable event for TM Machinery, and is a wonderful opportunity for some of our clients to learn about innovation within the industry. As the largest woodworking machinery exhibition in Europe, this is the only place where you can see everything under one roof and explore various new tools, suppliers, and technology all designed to enhance the woodworking process.
As a premier machinery supplier, this exhibition also presents an incredible opportunity for us to connect with both suppliers and customers. Everything happens in the same place, allowing us to develop both forms of relationships and learn more about what we can offer.
LIGNA is a key platform to learn more about machinery innovation and is a wonderful opportunity for our team, which we are proud to take regularly.
Striebig Vertical Panel Saws
During the exhibition, our team spent time with our suppliers, including Streibig. Streibig are one of our main suppliers and provide us with a range of machines, which we were more than happy to demonstrate to clients and visitors through LIGNA.
At this year’s show, two main models were highlighted:
-
Striebig Control: Particular focus was shown on the 4SB lifting device and optimisation features.
-
Striebig 4D: This is a top-of-the-line model that provides full panel handling and enhanced optimisation.
We were particularly excited about the new software that improves on the Streibig 4D models. Now it can support simultaneous functions to provide more efficient cutting, as well as offer faster speeds.
AL-KO’s Extraction Innovations
TM Machinery have been working with AL-KO for almost two decades, and we are incredibly proud of the work we do together. Our time at their stand in LIGNA 2025 allowed us to highlight some of their latest innovations and demonstrate one of their newest additions.
During the exhibition, AL-KO demonstrated their new Power Vac system as well as some of their classics, such as the Power Unit 160. The Power Unit 160 is one of the most popular extraction units in the UK and something TM Machinery are incredibly proud to be able to exclusively offer.
There was also a particular focus on new products within AL-KO’s micro extraction technology, designed to fill the gaps between their standard machinery and deliver higher levels of precision. Two key extraction units were the focus of demonstrations:
- Mid-vacuum Unit: This is designed for hand machines and offers a high underpressure (10,000 Pa).
- Power Unit 160P: The standard unit for machines like the Striebig saw, which offers 2,000 Pa and 2,000 m³/h airflow.
AL-KO is a premier supplier that offers a wide range of extraction units, varying from 790 m³/h to 10,000 m³/h to suit all requirements. TM Machinery are proud to be an exclusive provider of AL-KO machinery in the UK and works closely with this brand to deliver innovation across Europe.
Final Thoughts
LIGNA 2025 was a great success for the TM Machinery team and demonstrates why in-person events are so important for the industry. This is a regular event for our team and a wonderful opportunity for us to connect with both suppliers and customers under one roof.
We can develop our close relationships with premier suppliers such as Streibig and AL-KO, while also being able to experience the innovative technology on the market today. Getting to experience these updates first-hand and explore a wide range of upgrades from across the woodworking industry will shape our offerings in the UK. We can deliver the latest information and updates to our clients and continually work towards the improvement of machinery.
While this is a great opportunity for companies and suppliers, exhibitions like LIGNA 2025 are also ideal for customers. We’d encourage our clients to explore the various innovations and upgrades available to their woodworking machinery and see what is out there to streamline their operations. TM Machinery is a leading solution for woodworking machinery in the UK, and we bring this innovation directly to you.
