A Striebig Control 4168, the smallest in the nine-strong line-up of fully-automatic vertical panel saws, is proving it’s no lightweight when it comes to sizing door sets.

The Control has beefed up efficiency at specialist door set manufacturer Bespoke Complete Services. With a cutting range of 3300 x 1680mm and a cutting depth of 80mm, the saw has no problem in sizing 44 and 54mm thick severe duty particle cores as well as solid timber core door blanks.

The Control was supplied and installed by T.M Machinery Sales, Striebig’s exclusive U.K. distributor, in a deal finalised at last year’s W12 exhibition.

Bespoke Complete Services’ managing director Lee McMahon said: “We bought the Striebig to replace an existing wall saw that was underpowered while cutting through the 44 & 54mm cores currently being used.

Striebig Control chosen for automation

“We chose the Control because of its automated features. You program in the sizes and off the machine goes, fully automated, cutting down on human error.”

The saw is fitted with an optional Electronic Positioning System (EPS). This allows automatic positioning of the measuring stop for vertical cutting, and the height of the saw head for horizontal cutting.

Fitted as standard is Striebig’s user-friendly “touch and saw” operating system, providing easy and convenient control through a touch screen panel that operates all of the machine’s functions.

This unique feature raises the efficiency of the Control to new and unrivalled levels. Other standard features include a digital measuring system, accurate to 0.1mm and an adjustable precision display that can be set to an accuracy of 1.0, 0.5 or 0.1mm.

Numerous procedures can be carried out at the press of a button, including locking and releasing the beam saw, setting the horizontal cutting height, plunging and swivelling the motor, locking the support rollers during sawing and fine saw blade adjustment.

With the wide range of available options, which includes a scoring saw, Striebig is able to tailor a machine to a customer’s exact requirements.

Mr McMahon had fulsome praise for T.M. Machinery as well as for the Striebig saw. “The level of service they provide is very good and I would recommend them to other woodworking businesses.”

Established in Darwen, Lancashire almost two decades ago, Bespoke Complete Services also produces a wide range of joinery products in all timbers, veneers and laminates, in addition to their bespoke door sets, fire doors up to FD120 and acoustic door sets up to 40 db.
