The T.M Group, which last year celebrated 21 years of serving the woodworking industry, has taken a major step forward with the completion of a large extension at its Oadby, Leicester headquarters.

Built and fitted out to T.M.’s own specifications, the extension houses a display and demonstration area as well as providing far more space for stock holding, spare parts and refurbishment work.

The growth of the TM Group

Formed in 1984 by ex-Wadkin engineer Tony Morris, the business began as a service operation, and the T.M. Services & Spares division has grown to become one of the UK’s most respected woodworking machinery service specialists.

Highly qualified woodworking engineers

It employs a team of highly experienced engineers. Their range of expertise allows the T.M Group to be able to repair and maintain all types of woodworking machines such as sanders, panel saws, moulders, edge banders and planers.

They are extremely skilled at reconditioning machines of all kinds, returning them to their original condition, as well as sourcing spare parts for old equipment.

Nationwide coverage

The service company provides nationwide coverage, which includes Northern Ireland. It promises a rapid response to breakdowns as well as delivering regular service programmes.

T.M. Machinery supplies the panel processing sector with vertical panel saws and dust extraction equipment from some of the industry’s major manufacturers. It is probably best known for being the exclusive UK agent for the Striebig range of vertical panel saws.

An increased number of spare parts are now stocked in the T.M. Group's enlarged workshop.

Fast delivery times

Said Group Managing Director, Tony Morris: “The expansion that we have recently completed at Oadby means that the useable height within the workshop has more than doubled. This will allow us to store up to 15 new Striebig saws, mainly the very popular Compact model, which means we can offer an even faster delivery time to our customers.

“With the increased floor space up to four vertical panel saws, or larger numbers of smaller machines, can now be refurbished at any one time, and we also have far more space in which to store spare parts.”

New demonstration area

The impressive demonstration area has been built on a new mezzanine floor. It houses a Striebig Compact saw and an Al-Ko mobile dust extraction unit, with plenty of desk space for customers to discuss their requirements with T.M. staff.

Striebig vertical panel saws in stock

Swiss manufacturer Striebig is well known throughout the panel sizing industry as the world’s leading manufacturer of vertical panel saws, with more than 30 years’ technical expertise. It is the quality of their machines’ construction, innovative technology and outstanding accuracy of 0.1 mm that have made Striebig the undisputed market leaders for the sizing of wood, plastics and other panel materials.

With models available for all sizes of businesses, plus a large number of accessories, a Striebig saw can be supplied to suit every production requirement.

More space has been created to store Striebig saws, offering faster delivery times.

AL-KO dust extraction units also available

To remove dust from the saws and other production machines, T.M. offers the German-made Al-Ko mobile extraction units, which have been developed in association with highly experienced panel processors. They are extremely flexible, economic to run and represent excellent value for money. The T.M Group has come a long way since Tony Morris first went into business on his own servicing woodworking machines back in 1984.

With the expansion at Oadby and the opening of the new showroom, the company has demonstrated its faith in the future of the UK woodworking industry in a highly tangible way.
